*Important Note:
Tutor training is a vital component to any successful tutoring program. Professional staff require all newly hired peer tutors participate in a one-credit Peer Tutoring course (C I 200). Students wishing to apply for a potential tutoring job in the future with the ULC are also encouraged to enroll, however, employment is not guaranteed. The Peer Tutoring Course will help peer tutors develop an awareness of the needs of the students they will assist. The CI 200 course is designed to review and discuss setting-up and organizing a tutoring session, individual versus group tutoring, understanding learning styles, communicating cross culturally with students, the importance of study skills and more. Students who currently tutor in other departments, colleges, clubs or in the community and are interested in bettering their skills are also able to register for the CI 200 course.
Questions about the course can be directed to Lisa Broniszewski by calling 814-865-1842 or emailing lar101@psu.edu.
