Summer Science Workshop for Educators: Astrobiology: The Interdisciplinary Search for Life in the Cosmos

Participate in an outstanding week-long teacher professional development experience at Penn State University. Astrobiology: The Interdisciplinary Search for Life in the Cosmos was offered at both University Park and Abington campuses in August 2012 and may be offered again in the summer of 2013. Join faculty from the Penn State Astrobiology Research Center and examine how scientists work to detect and characterize life on the early Earth, in extreme environments, and in extraterrestrial settings. The latest research in astrobiology, NASA missions, and related hands-on activities will be highlighted. Earn two graduate credits from Penn State while making your classroom more engaging by developing activities with peers from across the country. Tuition, housing, and materials and supplies are provided by the Penn State Astrobiology Research Center and the NASA Astrobiology Institute. For educators grades 5-9.
