The Pennsylvania Department of Health, Division of Immunizations, is piloting a program that offers free Meningococcal vaccine to students who meet the initiative’s criteria. The vaccine will be administered by Penn State Harrisburg Wellness Center- Student Health Services to the following students: international students who missed the opportunity to get vaccinated before the start of the term, freshmen who are underinsured (health insurance does not cover the vaccine), and those freshman students who are uninsured. This would not take away from the existing requirement that all freshmen who live in group settings and dormitories should receive this vaccine prior to attending, but rather allow for those who would be unable to meet the requirement.
Please call to schedule an appointment at student health services (717-948-6015). The vaccine is free but there is an injection administration fee of $10 which will be billed to your student account.
