Safety and Police Services has completed its investigation of internet social network comments posted on November 5, 2008. With full cooperation from all individuals involved, a thorough investigation was conducted. Safety and Police Services determined that while messages were disruptive to members of the campus community, there was no finding for malice of intent. One former student was cited--no current students were cited.
Safety and Police Services wishes to thank everyone for their input, cooperation, and support, including Faculty Senate, school administration, Student Services, and those individual students involved in the investigation.
Students who may still be experiencing concerns are invited to meet with the Director of Student Affairs, Dr. Felicia Brown-Haywood, and the Director of Counseling Services, Dr. Steve Backels, in a small group session on Monday, November 10 at noon or at 5:00 p.m. in the Quiet Study of the Capital Union Building.
