To reach University police in an EMERGENCY dial 911 from any campus phone. This will put you in contact with the Dauphin County Emergency Communications Center. Let the operator know that you are calling from the Penn State Harrisburg Campus. Follow their instructions. They will dispatch the UNIVERSITY POLICE to your location (along with other emergency resources as required).
To reach University police in a non-emergency situation, dial 948-6232 (6232 from any campus phone). Between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, a member of police services will be there to answer your calls. In the evenings and on weekends when there may not be office coverage, you will receive a recording that will remind you to call 911 in the event of an emergency IF THE CALL IS NOT AN EMERGENCY you will be instructed to leave a message. Or if you wish to talk to an officer the message will instruct you to call the officer on their cellular phone (dial 979-7976).
Emergency phones are located in the parking lot at the rear of Olmsted. These phones are to be used only in case of an emergency and will connect you directly to the Dauphin county 911 Emergency Dispatch Center.
