Any team who forfeits twice will be dropped from the league.
The first half will start with a jump ball. The second half start will be determined by the possession arrow.
The game will consist of two 20-minute running halves.
Only during the last 2 minutes of each half will the clock be stopped for all fouls, jump balls, violations, and
timeouts. Exception: the clock will continue after successful field goals.
A 2-minute half-time will be strictly observed
The 3-point rule will be in effect from the 3-point arc. When shooting, the player’s toes must be beyond (not
touching) the 3-point arc in order for 3 points to be awarded.
In all held-ball situations, teams will alternate taking the ball out of bounds at the spot nearest to where the
situation occurred. The possession arrow will determine all held balls
All substitutes MUST be waved in by the official. Violations will result in a technical foul and loss of ball
possession.
All players on the bench must remain seated or stand behind the sideline.
Throughout the game, teams must line up promptly for free throws. A technical foul will result against the team who
deliberately stalls in these situations according to the discretion of the officials.

Each team will be permitted 1 timeout in the first overtime period and no timeouts in sudden death overtime.
During a dead ball, any offensive or defensive player may call a timeout.

Any flagrant foul involving violent contact which may cause injury to an opponent will result in expulsion from the
game and carry a 2 game suspension with it. Fighting carries an automatic ejection from the league. The IM Coordinator
reserves the right to deal with these violations.
Student officials will have absolute authority during the game. Technical fouls will be given for abuse of officials or
use of abusive language.
Two technical fouls on the same player will result in ejection of that player from the game as well as a 1 game
suspension.
Three technical fouls on one team will result in forfeiture.
Any offensive charge will result in a player/team foul PLUS no points scored.
Free Throws
Free throws will be awarded as per NCAA rules.
7-9 team fouls = one-and-one situation; 10 and more team fouls = 2 shots.
Overtime
In the event of a tie at the end of regulation play, a 2 minute overtime period will be played.
During the overtime period, fouls and clock stoppage will follow guidelines above as explained under "Game Format".
In the event the game is still tied after the first overtime period, a second overtime period will be played and it will
be sudden death. That is the first point (field goal or free throw) scored will end the game.
Each OT period will start with a jump ball.
Playoff Format
Playoff format will depend on the number of teams participating and will be determined by the IM Director at the beginning of league
play.
Seedings for playoffs will be determined by win/loss records. The team with the most wins will play the team with the
least wins, and so on. First tie breaker will be head-to-head game scores. Second tie breaker will be a coin flip with play-in game.
All playoff games will follow the same game format/rules as regular season play.
