
MIDDLETOWN, PA - Sophomore Kenton Alston (Steelton, PA/Steelton-Highspire) posted a career-high 33 points with the Penn State Harrisburg men´s basketball team outscoring visiting Penn State Schuylkill by 21 in the second half to collect an 89-73 victory Wednesday evening at the Capital Union Building. MIDDLETOWN, PA - The Penn State Harrisburg women´s basketball team kicked off their season Wednesday, November 18th with a 52-47 loss to Penn State Schuylkill at the Capital Union Building. In spite of shooting 35% from the field, Penn State Harrisburg held the lead at half, 25-19. MIDDLETOWN, PA - Equipped with six experienced returners and five promising newcomers, second year head coach, Mike Gaffey, and the Penn State Harrisburg men´s basketball team will look to improve on last year´s 8-18 campaign in which the Nittany Lions finished their season by getting knocked out of the playoffs in the first round by Cazenovia College in a 104-114 double-overtime defeat. Junior Shane Woodman (Mount Joy, PA/Donegal) and sophomore Kenton Alston (Steelton, PA/Steelton-Highspire) will lead the 09-10 Nittany Lions. Woodman, who led the team in three-points made, ranked in the top-25 in scoring and top-10 in three-point field goals made while averaging the most minutes played in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) last season. MIDDLETOWN, PA - After competing in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) playoffs for the first time since entering the NCAA, the Penn State Harrisburg women´s basketball team will be looking to expand on that success for the 2009-2010 season. With only two players returning from that team, the Lady Lions will look for sophomores, Amaris Gardner (Virginia Beach, VA/Bayside) and Dorothea Dixon (Middletown, PA/Middletown), to lead the blue and white to their second consecutive NEAC playoff appearance.
