

Head Coach Becky Cecere is certified by the United States Professional Tennis Association (P1) and by the Professional Tennis Registry. Prior coming to Penn State Harrisburg, she was the Head Women’s Tennis Coach at Dickinson College for eight years. She built a regionally recognized program in the ITA Atlantic South and the Centennial Conference. She has also coached at Hershey and Middletown High Schools. Becky was Director of Tennis at the Hershey Recreation Center from 1990 through 2005, before joining the staff of the Hershey Racquet Club.
In addition, she has graduated from the USTA’s USA Tennis High Performance Coaching Program, earning the USPTA designation of Specialist in Competitive Player Development. She is one of only four coaches in Central Pennsylvania, and approximately 600 in the United States to hold this distinction. In September 2006, she participated in a High Performance Continuing Education program at the US Open which focused on world class player development. During the past nine summers she has coached nationally ranked juniors at the Northeast Zone Team 16s Championships in St. Louis.
Becky is currently serving as Chair of the Collegiate Committee for the USTA/Middle States, as well as continuing as a member of the High Performance committee. She is a past president of the USTA Central Penn District, served many years as a nationally certified NTRP Verifier, and has also been involved with the Central Penn Competitive Training Center, a national junior player development program, for many years and was also the Administrator and Head Coach.
Becky is a graduate of Ithaca College, where she played on the tennis team. She holds a master´s degree in Journalism and Graphic Arts from Texas A&M-Commerce. She and her husband, Joseph, have three children; two of whom are Penn State graduates, while the third is a senior at Ithaca College.
