Lady Lions Take Home Opener, 3-2

MIDDLETOWN, PA - A strong performance from freshman Amanda Duda (Centerville, VA/Westfield) and senior Elise Williams (Mountain Top, PA/Crestwood) help give the Penn State Harrisburg volleyball team the edge over the visiting Blazers of Hood College in a 3-2 victory. After turning out a 3-1 record in the Gettysburg tournament last weekend, the Lady Lions improve to 4-1 on the season and continue their best start in school history.

Thursday´s match proved to be a challenge for Harrisburg going all five sets, 25-15, 14-25, 23-25, 25-22, 15-12. Senior setter Amanda Wade (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cedar Cliff) recorded 15 assists on the night, feeding outside hitter Williams for a match high 10 kills. Duda was able to finish the evening with seven kills.

The Lady Lions are back in action this weekend as they travel to the Messiah College Tournament. There, the blue and white will meet Methodist and Marymount on Saturday, September 12 beginning at 10:00 A.M.
