Seven Named to Women´s Soccer All-conference Team; Brown Coach of Year

GANSEVOORT, NY - A school record seven Penn State Harrisburg women´s soccer players were named to the 2009 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Women´s Soccer All-Conference team Wednesday November 4th. Head coach Mark Brown, who took the 14-2 Lady Lions to their best season in school history, was voted NEAC Coach of the Year for his undefeated season in conference play.

Freshman Lindsay McNeal (Hershey, PA/ Hershey), sophomore Corinne Mazzotta (Haddam, CT/Haddam Killingworth), senior Lindsey Stauffer (Harrisburg, PA/Bishop McDevitt), and freshman goalkeeper Brittany Adams (Dillsburg, PA/Northern) all earned first team honors. Sophomore Jessi Manion (North Wales, PA/North Penn), senior Amanda Basile (Allentown, PA/Emmaus) and sophomore Valerie Calvano (Haymarket, VA/Battlefield) picked up second team admiration.

McNeal, who leads her team in points (44) and goals (20), was named the NEAC Player of the Year for her efforts. As a freshman, McNeal has already broken the school record for most career goals and points, as well as most goals and points in a season.

Mazzotta accumulated eight goals and nine assist from her midfield slot, while Stauffer, one of the top defenders in the NEAC, registered three assists while leading her defense to a 0.69 goals per game percentage.

Manion is the blue and white´s second leading scorer with 11 goals and seven assists (29 points) through 16 games with Calvano providing solid defense collecting one goal and three assists throughout the season.

Basile, Penn State Harrisbur´s first four-year women´s soccer player, earns her first All-Conference honor. She has assisted in seven goals this season making her Penn State Harrisburg´s all-time leader in assists.
