Penn State Harrisburg Takes It To The Visiting Express, 6-2

Women's Soccer

MIDDLETOWN, PA - The Penn State Harrisburg women´s soccer continued their hot streak with a win over North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opponent, Wells College, Saturday afternoon with a 6-2 victory at Penn State Harrisburg´s soccer field.

Wells College´s Juli Vibbard took Lady Lion goalkeeper, Angela Gilmore (Millersburg, PA/Millersburg), by surprise in the 20th minute when she boomed a high far post shot in the net. The blue and white took little time to answer back with a goal of their own coming off the foot of Megan Frailey (Middletown, PA/Middletown) fed by teammate Jessi Manion (North Wales, PA/North Penn) just 28 seconds later.

Frailey tacked on the eventual game winning goal in the 25th minute, assist by Adrienne Stine (York, PA/Northeastern), to give Penn State Harrisburg the 2-1 lead. The Lady Lions´ offense did not stop there with sophomore Corinne Mazzotta (Haddam, CT/Haddam Killingworth) collecting two goals via Manion for the first and Amanda Basile (Allentown, PA/Emmaus) for the second in the first 15 minutes of the second half. Lindsay McNeal (Hershey, PA/Hershey) and Allie Rank (Halifax, PA/Halifax) were both able to record their fifth goal of the season with Lindsey Stauffer (Harrisburg, PA/Bishop McDevitt) and Allison Collins (Mechanicsburg, PA/Bishop McDevitt) assisting them respectfully.

Wells was able to put in another goal with seven minutes remaining by Samantha Civilette assisted by Emily Lotkowictz. It was too little too late though, the blue and white were able to collect their fourth win on the season and second in the conference putting them at 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference.

Harrisburg outshot the Express 34-5, and held the edge in corner kicks by a margin of 5-0.
