Lady Lions Fall in Five Sets

MIDDLETOWN, PA - The Penn State Harrisburg women´s volleyball team fell short to the visiting Aggies of Delaware Valley in five games on Thursday, October 22 at the Capital Union Building.

The Lady Lions came out flat, dropping the first two games, 25-12, 25-17 only collecting 10 team kills with eight team errors.

The blue and white were able to roar back taking the next two games 25-21, 25-21 accumulating 22 team kills. In the fifth game, the pendulum of momentum continued with Delaware Valley grabbing two late game service aces to top the Lady Lions, 15-13.

Amanda Wade (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cedar Cliff) had 30 set assists, while Amanda Duda (Centerville, VA/Westfield) led the team with 13 kills collecting 17 digs. Elise Williams (Mountain Top, PA/Crestwood) and Finesse Hempfing (Hanover, PA/Hanover) combined for 12 kills and 10 blocks.

In Saturday´s action, the Lady Lions finished out the season defeating Penn State Abington and Cazenovia College 3-0 and 3-0, putting them at 18-11 on the year.

Penn State Harrisburg will host the North Eastern Athletic Conference playoffs starting November 6th. More information will follow.
