Graduate Degree Application Instructions
Applicants who are applying to Penn State Harrisburg's graduate programs are required to gather their supporting credentials and to submit them to:

All Applicants
- Complete the electronic application.
- Select your degree and major from the drop-down menu.
- Submit two (2) official transcripts from each college or university attended (with the exception of Penn State University). All
international transcripts must be submitted by the applicant to Educational Credential Evaluators,
Inc. for a Course-by-Course academic evaluation.
- Select the Supporting Credentials link to determine what additional supporting credentials your program
requires.
- If you are submitting reference letters, please have them sent directly to: Penn State Harrisburg, Graduate Admissions, Swatara
Building, 777 West Harrisburg Pike, Middletown, PA 17057.
- Certification applicants: in the electronic application, enter "Certification" in the Graduate Degree Sought Box and enter
"Teaching and Curriculum" in the Major Box. Indicate the type of certification (English, mathematics, or social studies) in the
comment box at the end of the electronic application.
- If a graduate program requires the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), or the Test of
English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), have the test scores sent to Penn State Harrisburg (Penn State Harrisburg's institution code
2708). If a graduate program requires the Miller Analogies Test (MAT), the institution code is 1651.
- APPLICANTS MAY APPLY TO ONLY ONE GRADUATE PROGRAM AND ONE CAMPUS AT A TIME.
International Applicants
- Completed International application materials must be submitted by the following deadlines. Applications received after the
deadlines will be processed for the following semester.
- Fall Semester — May 31
- Spring Semester — September 30
- Summer Semester — February 28
Please note: Each graduate program reserves the right to set earlier deadlines than those noted above.
- Complete application for Visa Document.
- All international transcripts must be submitted by the applicant to Educational
Credential Evaluators, Inc. for a Course-by-Course academic evaluation.
- English Proficiency--The language of instruction at Penn State is English. International applicants must take and submit scores for the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or the IELTS (International English Language Testing System). The minimum acceptable score for the TOEFL is 550 for the paper-based test, 213 for the computer-based test, or a total score of 80 with a 19 on the speaking section for the internet-based test. The minimum composite score for the IELTS is 6.5. Specific graduate programs may have more stringent requirements.
Financial Aid
- There are no scholarships or other types of financial aid available for students from abroad.
