College offering LEED exam prep courses

Demand for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accreditation is increasing for professionals in the fields of architecture, engineering, and construction.

In order to meet this regional demand, Penn State Harrisburg is one of seven University locations offering two new LEED accreditation exam prep courses in September. With the live location at University Park for both courses, Penn State Harrisburg will serve as a remote location for the instruction along with the DuBois, Lehigh Valley, Wilkes-Barre, Abington, and Fayette campuses.

The LEED Green Associate prep course will be September 18 and the LEED Accredited Professional session will be September 25. Both sessions are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in room E-308 of the Olmsted Building at Penn State Harrisburg.

The Green Associate credential denotes general knowledge of green design, construction, and operations. The course includes a review of the LEED rating systems, simulated exam questions, and strategies for passing the exam. The course is aimed at the professional who is interested in preparing to take the LEED Green Associate Exam.

The LEED Accredited Professional credential signifies a greater depth of knowledge in green building practices and specialization in one of several fields. The course includes a review of LEED credits, simulated exam questions, and strategies for passing the exam.
