

Dr. Yu Shi joined Penn State Harrisburg in 2006. Her research focuses on media globalization, audience studies, intercultural communications, and issues of immigration, racial/ethnic, gender, and class relations in the U.S. She has published in Continuum: Journal of Media and Cultural Studies, and the Encyclopedia of Children, Adolescents, and the Media. Three other articles are currently under review by Communication and Critical/Cultural Studies, Feminist Media Studies, and Meridian: Feminism, Race, Transnationalism. Her current project studies the influences of U.S. TV programs on Chinese youth culture. She was the editor of Journal of Communication Inquiry, and is still actively reviewing submissions for JCI. Her course offerings include Intercultural Communications and Effective Speech.
