The Academic Skills Coach assists students in developing effective study habits, improving time management, and clarifying learning strategies. The coach will motivate you toward your scholastic goals by providing structure, support, and feedback. Examples of coaching sessions include time management, learning styles, the study cycle, note taking systems, textbook reading strategies, and test-taking strategies.

Our writing tutors have International and ESL expertise for both undergraduate and graduate students. Schedule an appointment with the writing tutors by using the Online Scheduler or contact Kathy at 948-6469 OR drop in to C-216 (semester start; moving to W-117) without an appointment, and a tutor will help you if one is available. An appointment is recommended, but not required.
For international students, or any student whose first language is not English, we offer informal, drop-in English Conversation Practice. Students can practice speaking and conversation skills in a comfortable setting with other international students and a Learning Center staff member with ESL expertise. An appointment (individual or group) is recommended, but not required. Math tutors can help with math courses up to and including MATH 141 and STAT 200. Ask about other courses; frequently someone can tutor them. Scheduled tutoring is limited to two hours per week per course; additional time is available by dropping in.
