Services to Faculty in support of their teaching include:
For Writing, especially writing-intensive (W) courses, the Learning Center is able to:
- offer writing workshops designed to support course-specific/discipline-specific instructional goals
- provide information and direction for designing writing assignments of varying lengths and purposes
- suggest a variety of grading options and strategies for managing paper load
- help in the development of writing-intensive course syllabi and course materials
- provide writing support to faculty in their professional writing such as research agenda development and focus,
including manuscript preparation and development, peer review projects, and publications revision
Contact Kathy Brode or 948-6469. While the Learning Center is pleased to offer these support services to faculty, there are times in the semester when student appointments are so numerous that priority must be given to those appointments. We, therefore, support faculty writing as time allows.
For Mathematics and Science Courses at the 100 level, the Learning Center is able to:
- offer workshops designed to support course-specific/discipline-specific instructional goals, for example, graphing
calculator use, algebra reviews, trig reviews, graphing for chemistry using Excel, etc.

- a variety of study skills and content-specific workshops are offered in support of the First-Year Seminar courses
- peer mentors are trained and hired for each section
