David Argall
David Argall, a Representative in the Pennsylvania Legislature, has made great progress in the conservation and revitalization of our communities during his nearly 20 years of service to the 124 th District. Well-known for his conservation efforts, Rep. Argall is the prime sponsor of the Waste Tire Recycling and Small Business and Household Pollution Prevention Act of 1996, which has led to the clean-up of approximately 23.8 million tires from waste piles across the Commonwealth. Because of his work, Rep. Argall has received awards from the Schuylkill River Greenway Association, the Pennsylvania Resources Council, the Pennsylvania Recreation and Parks Society, Preservation Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.
An active member of his community, Rep. Argall is an Eagle Scout and a leader of his son’s Scout Troop. He has been elected by his colleagues to serve in a House leadership role as Appropriations Chairman, overseeing the committee that shapes Pennsylvania ’s $21 billion annual budget. Rep. Argall has served the people of the 124 th district since 1985. He has been re-elected in nine subsequent elections, each time winning all of the district’s 11 boroughs and 16 townships in Berks and Schuylkill counties. Rep. Argall earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Studies from Lycoming College and a master’s degree in American Studies at Penn State Harrisburg. He also is continuing his work at the Harrisburg campus in the Ph.D. program in Public Administration and is a part-time instructor at Penn State ’s Schuylkill campus. Rep. Argall and his wife, Beth, live in Rush Township with their son, A.J., and their daughter, Elise. Rep. Argall welcomes visits in his district offices in Tamaqua, Orwigsburg, and Hamburg.
