HIST 495 is designed to provide students with the opportunity to work with external organizations and enterprises to acquire work experience relevant to the history major and to establish networks and contacts that may be of use in their future careers. To obtain academic credit for an internship, students are expected to perform the work of the internship and to produce an academic paper derived in whole or in large part from the internship work. Evaluation of the student's performance in HIST 495 will be based on a combination of outside work performance (40%) and academic performance (60%).
The student seeking to enroll in HIST 495 should fill out this form completely after discussing the project with a suitable history faculty member who has agreed to sponsor it.
