Kinesiology 403: Emergency Medical Technology (EMT Class)

This semester-long, 4-credit course provides the student training to the level of the Emergency Medical Technician-Basic, who serves as a vital link in the chain of survival as an integral part of the health care team. This course includes skills necessary for the individual to provide emergency medical care at a basic life support level with an ambulance or other specialized service. It consists of two weekly lectures and a hands-on lab experience once a week. After successfully completing this course, the student will be prepared to take the EMT-Basic exam offered by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the National Registry of EMTs.
