I am preparing a presentation today, and I came across this wonderful ctan.org guide to making a latex presentation with beamer.  I especially liked their advice about when to put an abstract directly into a slide show:

∙ Never, ever reuse a paper abstract for a presentation, except if the abstract is “We show P = NP” or “We show P != NP”
∙ If your abstract is one of the above two, double-check whether your proof is correct.
