One School One Team

Penn State Hockey was established in 1939 and was a varsity sport until 1946. The program started up again in 1971 and has developed a reputation for excellence with 7 American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) National Championships. Run under the auspices of Intercollegiate Athletics, the team has a loyal fan base and regulary sells out its home games at the Ice Pavilion located on the eastern side of the Penn State campus.

The team enjoys excellent facilities including an on-campus rink, weight room, and training/health care facilities. The team is also fortunate to have Nike, who supplies the team with equipment and apparel, as a major sponsor.

The Icers received extensive media coverage from local newspapers, radio and TV. All games are broadcast via the internet, with many also broadcast on local radio stations.
