Dear Potential Sponsor,The Penn State Cricket Club (PSCC), a member of club sports at the Pennsylvania State University will commence their third season this summer. The club currently has over 40 registered members comprising of graduate and undergraduate students, faculty and staff of Penn State. The goal of the club is to promote the game of cricket to the Penn State and the State College community. Our season spans a period of 18 weeks starting in May and ending in August. During the season, the club members practice three days a week and participate in tournament competitions over the weekend. A cricket team selecting the best talent among its members has represented Penn State in various competitions in New Jersey and Washington D.C. over the past three seasons. During its first season in 2003, PSCC participated in a tournament organized by the Cricket League of New Jersey (CLNJ) and ended with a 3-9-4 record. In 2004 and 2005, the club participated in the Washington Metropolitan Cricket Board (WMCB) league and posted a record of 6-4-2 and 9-3 respectively. During these last two seasons, three of our club members were selected to represent the Washington cricket league in the Atlantic regional tournament. In addition to the summer tournaments, the club has also organized cricket tournaments in and around the campus to bring out the cricketing talent in students, faculty and staff. In order to be successful in its goals the club is looking for financial support from individuals and businesses to cover costs such as purchasing equipment, travel to competitions, league participation fees, referee payments and organizing cricket tournaments. We receive very little financial aid from the university, which leaves us to pay for the majority of the expenses through fundraising and personal contributions. We are continuously striving to bring teams to visit Penn State to play games. In order to succeed in our endeavour to make cricket a well known sport in Penn Statem, we are hoping to develop long-term relationships with companies interested in supporting the Penn State Cricket Club. In return for their support, the club would recognize our sponsors on our webpage, banners at home games, playing equipment, uniforms, event flyers and emails and distributing promotional materials during events. As a new and upcoming club slowly gathering recognition, we ask you to support our club in becoming a pioneer among university cricket clubs across U.S.A.
