2006 Spring Tournament and T-shirt Drive [posted 04/21/06]

The 2nd Annual Spring 8-a-side Cricket Tournament was hosted with tremendous success at the West Campus fields. The response was even more overwhelming this time with 14 teams registering for the tournament. Teams from out of town as well as team members travelling from Connecticut, North Carolina, New Jersey, Texas, Delaware, Virginia and California created an exciting and fun-filled weekend. The event was co-sponsored by the International Student Services and KRG Tech. The tournament was covered by the Daily Collegian providing a great deal of publicity for the club. During the tournament and the weekend, a massive sales drive was mounted for the 2006 spring tourney t-shirt and more than 100 t-shirts were sold capping off a great fundraising effort.

Also during the weekend PSCC played hosts to a team of high school students from Wyoming Seminary in Kingston, PA. The team played games with other teams from the tournament on the upper West campus fields. Following is the picture of the team from Kingston.

2006 PSCC T-shirt design finalized [posted 04/11/06]

Once again the club has desgined a t-shirt to be launched along with the spring tournament this year. The t-shirts are $10 a piece and available in sizes S, M, L and XL. If anyone is interested in buying the club t-shirt, please contact Subash Jayaraman in order to get your desired size.

The t-shirt logo and graphics have been designed by Abhishek Srivastav. The t-shirt design for the front and back is shown below.

Spring Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament [posted 04/22/06]

PSCC will be organizing its annual 8-a-side tennis ball cricket tournament on the 15th & 16th April 2006. Details of the tournament can be found at the spring tournament page.

We are looking for volunteers and sponsors to help us make the tournament a success. If interested please contact the event coordinator Subash Jayaraman.

General Body Meeting Date Set [posted 03/13/06]

PSCC will hold its general body meeting on 16th March 2006 at 6:15 PM in 267 Willard. The main agenda of the meeting will be

  1. Introduction of the new committee,
  2. Planning for the Annual Spring Tennis Ball Tournament, and
  3. New member enrollment
PSCC will also be accepting subscriptions from current and new members. The dues for this year have been set at $30.00. Please bring a check made to "The Pennsylavania State University" and marked "CRICKET CLUB" in the memo. If that is too much trouble PSCC will also accept cash!

PSCC is also looking for volunteers to organize the Tennis Ball Tournament. If you are willing to help, please contact Venkatesh Rajagopalan so that we can form committees.

In addition to the meeting agenda, an informal discussion will be held to bounce off ideas for the general improvement of things associated with the club. Please feel free to contact friends interested in attending the meeting or joining the club. FREE PIZZA and SODA will be available at the meeting.

New Penn State Cricket Club Committee elected [posted 01/24/06]

The elections for the 2006 committee were held online via Angel and the following new committee was declared elected by Rohan Samsi (ex Vice president of the club).
