The Penn State Women's Ice Hockey is a member of the American Collegiate Hockey Association Women's Division I and is in the Eastern Collegiate Womens Ice Hockey League. Each season, the team plays between 20-25 games against ACHA womens teams along with some non-ACHA competition. Among the teams played in recent years are University of Michigan, Ohio State University, Michigan State University, Boston University, University of Massachusetts, and Rhode Island University. Due to the demanding schedule, the team trains at a high level throughout the entire school year, not just hockey season. However it is important to note that despite the schedule, team dues are only about $800 a season. Listed below is a typical training schedule, along with team services that are provided.

- Training -

-Three 1 hour on ice practices per week
-Team Weight Lifting with a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach 2-3 times a week
-Team Cardiovascular Training Sessions
-Chalk talk and team meetings once a week

- Travel -

-Travel by charter bus to all away games (planes possible for national competition)
-All hotel costs are included
-Meals are the responsibility of the player

- Team Equipment-

Pants and Gloves Provided
-Home and Away Jerseys and Socks Provided
-Equipment Bag Provided
-Practice Jersey and Socks Provided
-Team Apparel Available at a Discount Rate
-Players must provide Dark Helmet

- Team Services-

-Advisor Available
-Staff of 1 full-time head coach and several assistants
-Strength and Conditioning Coach
-Team Advisor
-Team Sports Administrator(handles travel arrangements and treasurery)
-Booster Club and Management Team
