Welcome to JFA!

The Japanese Friendship Association (JFA) is a student organization in State College, administered by about fifty members. As one of the official international student organizations at Penn State, JFA has been actively engaged in various activities for about thirty years. Members of JFA include students, scholars, and faculty members of the university, as well as non-Japanese people whom are interested in Japan and Japanese culture. Our main objective includes the promotion of friendship among members as well as knowledge and understanding about Japan through social and cultural activities. In particular, we aim to introduce Japanese culture to the university and the State College community through events such as the Pennsylvania State International Festival and our annual JFA BBQ.

In addition to the above, we are looking forward to assisting you with any problems you have. This club will give students a chance to hear advices about their career decisions as they meet new people from various backgrounds. We are also willing to accommodate you with any needs you may have in making an adjustment here in State College.

JFA henceforth would like not only to introduce Japanese culture, but also would like to assist you in the life here in the State College community.
