Over the course of this summer the brothers have taken it upon themselves to beautify the Delta Delta house. Using money from the chapter, the housing corporation, and out of their own pockets, the brotherhood is showing their desire to leave this place better than when they found it. Brother Jaroh (DD 1381) and Brother Conboy (DD 1368) have led the effort inside paying special attention to the entrance. Jaroh has proven his aptitude with everything from electricity to welding and continues to impress us. He rewired the foyer lights with new fixtures that brighten up the entrance in a first step towards his goal of creating a first impression sure to grab the attention of any potential new member. Another project is library room which used to be the home to the pool table. The pool table has been moved to the dining room and several couches and armchairs have been moved into the newly painted library. The complete plans for the library include an entertainment center to be housed in the fireplace and reupholstering of most of the furniture in the room. We hope to have the vast majority of this done by the beginning of fall semester. Let us not forget about the alumni involvement as well. Alumni brother Lebofsky (DD 1287) has been around to continue his support with his most recent project being wiring the house with ethernet cabling which will help improve the attractiveness of the house for both getting brothers to live in the house as well as attracting boarders. Alumni brother Sidwell (DD 879) has been in contact with the undergraduates as well in helping to plan several other projects. Working with Jaroh and Brother Hackett (DD 1361) Sidwell has supported plans for Jaroh to replace the brick wall along the parking lot and Hackett to mulch the yard and set plans in place for improving the south side of the house. This hard work is helping to create the warm and inviting atmosphere that the Brothers of Sigma Nu cherish. The alumni have continued to pass down the love for this house and this trend can still be seem and will confidently live on for many more generations of Knights.
