PSU ESIO Officers

President - Jon Crisafi

I graduated from Penn State University in December 2009 with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering and am currently pursuing a Master's of Science in Transportation Engineering.  My focus is the development of highway geometrics and operations.  While mostly focused on the work done in the United States, I aspire to take my engineering know-how abroad to establish sustainable infrastructure networks in the developing world.

My involvement with ESIO began junior year (FA 07) through Penn State's Engineering Leadership Development Minor.  I was tasked with helping ESIO raise money to build a schoolhouse in Cambodia; I was the first group (class) to be part of ESIO’s first fundraising efforts.  Since then, I have worked with ESIO as President (as I currently am and during the 2008-2009 school year) on projects around the world.

I love three basic activities: skiing, soccer, and travel (in alphabetical order).  The cool thing about these three is that they all provide motivation for each other.  My life-long goal is to ski on every continent (save Antarctica; a bit too dangerous).  Soccer is played across the world and one of my greatest experiences was playing soccer on the beach… in Rabat, Morocco!

Treasurer - Justin Baltz

I am currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering with a minor in Engineering Leadership. I would like to focus in designing  sustainable buildings.

I became a member of ESIO during my sophomore year (SP 09) through the Engineering Leadership minor. Me and a team's goal was to raise money for the Rainwater Harvesting Project. After completion of the semester, I stayed with the organization and have worked on the Cambodia Schoolhouse Initiative.

Outside of the club and other school work, I do a lot of activities involving music. I play Trombone and am also a member of the University Choir. If I had the time I would also like to be a part of the musicals that the campus puts on each semester. Aside from music I enjoy a nice round of golf in the summer and in general just being outdoors.
