Hello I.T.!
First off all, thanks to everyone who came out this weekend! We had a lot of great discussion and presentation of many issues that I will be working on in the coming weeks.
To give a quick overview, we discussed the SAC-ITS meeting and the issues presented there, in addition to issues at the campuses. Mike, Ryan, and myself will be taking those to the next SAC-ITS meeting to get any information that we can gather.
We then had lengthy discussions about the I.T. reform plan here at UP and across the Commonwealth. Nick Yeager was able to go into detail about how Berks does it and from that we agreed that the Berks model is going to be our base (thanks again Nick!) with some input from Fayette. I hope to have a final drafted soon for everyone which can be brought up for formal approval at the next council weekend.
I also asked that over the next few weeks, please do a little research into who works with the I.T. fee at each of your campuses so that when the model is formally approved we can hit the ground running!
Also, I have posted a powerpoint on the I.T. Fee from last year and a powerpoint on ANGEL usage from the last SAC-ITS meeting.
Finally, I just wanted to thank everyone for all of their hard work! I.T. is an issue that has not been given this much attention by anyone in this University until now, and even starting from scratch we are making great strides in gaining insight on this delicate issue.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me anytime!
FTC,
Mj
