Telescopes

On the roof of Davey Labratory are five telescopes: One 24" Cassegrain reflector; Two 8" Celestron C-8 Cassegrain reflectors, and Two 10" Dobsonian reflectors. The first three telescopes are owned by the Department of Astronomy & Astrophysics. The last two are owned, and were built by, the Astronomy Club.

The department also owns the Black Moshannon Observatory, which houses a 62" reflecting telescope. The observatory has been neglected over the years, but recently there has been interest in rennovations, which will be a project the Astronomy Club will be a part of. The club owns its own observatory just north of State College at Fox Hollow. It houses a 6" Mogey refracting telescope.
